Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade was proud of his players after they battled back to earn a deserved 1-1 draw at Colchester.
Jimmy Smith's stoppage-time equaliser earned League One's bottom side a point against the Us, who had taken a first-half lead through Anthony Wordsworth.
"It was a fairly even game but I don't know how we didn't get a penalty," said Slade. "Maybe things go against you when you're down the bottom. It was a poor decision from our point of view and we were disappointed with that.
"But to fight back the way we did and create what I thought were four great openings in the second period and dominating the football as well, we were unfortunate not to win the football match.
"Had we lost I would have been proud of what we've tried to do. That's all that I can ask for, to go home a proud man on a Saturday or Tuesday night.
"It's the same for my players and hopefully we've put a bit of pride back into the shirt."
