MK Dons beat Chesterfield 6-2 to go top of League One, while Brentford thrashed Leyton Orient 5-0.

Karl Robinson would no doubt have been impressed with his side as they showed their class against Chesterfield, while the Bees provided a real sting to leave Leyton Orient reeling.

Charlton and Sheffield United both lost their 100 per cent records as they could only muster draws on their latest outings.

Sam Baldock notched an impressive hat-trick as MK Dons ran riot against Chesterfield in a 6-2 victory. Scott Bolden notched twice for the visitors but those goals could not stem the flow of the Dons attack.

Uwe Rosler would have been thrilled as his Brentford side thumped Leyton Orient 5-0 to leave the visitors still looking for their first points of the season. Sam Saunders notched a brace while Niall McGinn, Leon Legge and Marcus Bean plundered the other goals.

A brace from Jordan Rhodes gave Huddersfield a 3-2 win and kept Colchester searching for their first win of the term. Kayode Odejayi and Michail Antonio netted for the visitors but Lee Novak popped up with the winner for Town.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored his third goal in a week, but it was not enough to continue Charlton's winning sequence. Goals in either half from Johnnie Jackson and Wright-Phillips put them in control, before a Bobby Grant double earned Scunthorpe a point.

Joss Labadie's goal 10 minutes from time put an end to Sheffield United's 100 per cent record in League One following a 1-1 draw at Tranmere. Nick Montgomery gave the Blades the lead just before the interval, but they were unable to hold on.

Carlisle ensured that Bournemouth's long trip was less than fruitful as they claimed a 2-1 win. Tom Taiwo put the home side ahead shortly after the interval before Harry Arter levelled from the penalty spot. However, their chances of earning a point were dashed as Nathan Byrne put the ball in his own goal.

Oldham made it two wins in two outings with a 2-0 victory over Rochdale to leave their local rivals still searching for a win. Reuben Reid put the Latics ahead from the penalty spot and Nathan Clarke added the second in first-half injury-time.

Preston continued their bid for an immediate return to the Championship with their second win in a week. Jamie Proctor scored the game's solitary goal, while Steve Tully was dismissed for Exeter after 23 minutes.

Sheffield Wednesday bared their teeth after two defeats to claim a 2-1 win over Notts County. Jeff Hughes put County ahead from the spot but Wednesday came back with goals from Julian Bennett and Gary Madine.

Hartlepool thought they had claimed their first win of the season but their 2-2 draw against Stevenage means they have drawn all four of their games this term. Peter Hartley's goal and an Adam Boyd's penalty put them ahead but Byron Harrison and Scott Laird struck to earn them a point.

Walsall and Yeovil earned a point in a 1-1 draw after both were defeated in midweek. Jonathan Macken put the Saddlers ahead but Gavin Williams struck two minutes before the interval to level the scores.

Bury made it two wins on the spin with a 2-0 victory over fellow newly-promoted side Wycombe. Goals from Mike Jones and Ryan Lowe in either half showed they are acclimatising to this level nicely.
