Manager Lee Bradbury was satisfied after Tranmere and Bournemouth contested a goalless League One draw at Prenton Park.

Defence dominated in a dogged affair. Jose Baxter saw a cross deflected on to the top of the crossbar off of Stephane Zubar just before the half-hour mark.

Visiting goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan saved at the second attempt from the hard working Lucas Akins after 70 minutes and three minutes later he did well to hold a Baxter effort at the near post. Tranmere were lucky in the 88th minute when Stephen Purches headed off the line from Ash Taylor.

On the balance of play, Bradbury was probably the happier of the two manager and he said: "It is a difficult place to come. Tranmere are a big physical side. They threw everything at us including the kitchen sink in the closing stages, so it was a good point for us.

"We made chances in the first half but it would have been against the run of play had we come in one up. We were resolute and it is a hard-earned draw. Obviously, we want to win every game we play in but sometimes it is not possible.

"We are building at the moment. The last four games have seen good performances. We certainly did our job. We both could have nicked it but it was a fair result."
