Morecambe stay top; Plymouth lose again

Morecambe remain at the top of League Two despite drawing on Tuesday, while bottom side Plymouth lost again.

Rotherham also drew to stay second, while Tom Pope hit a last-gasp winner to send Port Vale up to third at the expense of Bradford.

Elsewhere, Paulo Di Canio's Swindon registered their third win on the bounce to sink Crawley, while down at the bottom, Plymouth lost at Barnet and Hereford slumped to a home loss to Aldershot.

Fresh from notching a hat-trick against Crawley at the weekend, Danny Carlton was again on the scoresheet as Morecambe drew 1-1 at Macclesfield to remain at the top of the standings.

Ryan Cresswell was on target as Rotherham drew with Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground to stay second.

Port Vale rose to third as Tom Pope hit a late winner to sink Bradford in a five-goal thriller.

Shrewsbury dropped to fourth after Chris Zebroski notched the winner for Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.

Rescued

Kevin Nicholson rescued a point for Torquay as the Gulls twice came from behind to draw against fellow high-fliers Cheltenham.

Burton rose to seventh thanks to Justin Richards' effort against Crewe, while Crawley fell to eighth as Medhi Kerrouche scored a brace for Swindon, who climbed to 10th with the victory.

Mark Phillips scored a late winner as 10-man Southend beat Gillingham to rise to ninth.

10-man Northampton thumped AFC Wimbledon 3-0, while Robert Hall fired Oxford into 11th place at the expense of Dagenham & Redbridge.

At the foot of the table, Izale McLeod scored as Barnet inflicted more misery on bottom side Plymouth, while second from bottom Hereford also tasted defeat courtesy of a Michael Rankine winner for Aldershot.
