Davies: Backed by boss
Bradford boss Phil Parkinson insists his decision to drop skipper Guy Branston for Andrew Davies on Saturday was justified.
Davies arrived on a three-month loan deal from Stoke on Friday and was thrown straight into the starting line-up against AFC Wimbledon in place of axed captain Branston.
The Bantams crashed to a third straight defeat to leave Parkinson still chasing his first win as boss at Valley Parade, but the former Hull and Charlton manager said: "We conceded three goals at Port Vale and three goals at Crawley and I think any manager would make a change. I felt we had to do that.
"I thought Andrew played well. He's a good player and he's a leader in that back four. He couldn't prevent any of the goals, but Andrew's a good player and he'll improve with us.
"It was Andrew's first game for a while, but he played his part and I thought he did well."
