Chesterfield boss John Sheridan intends to stick to his guns despite his side only picking up two league points so far this season.

The Spireites, promoted as League Two champions last year, sit in the relegation zone with only Leyton Orient below them in the table.

But Sheridan is committed to the cause and told the Sheffield Star: "Everyone knows I want to win every game. I want to do well with this club, I believe I'll do well with them and I'll carry on doing what I think is right.

"If I fail, I fail. But I've got a good bunch of lads and we can start winning games. We'll work very hard to do that.

"We should have beaten Orient, beaten Stevenage, we should have got something at Tranmere and Exeter, so we could be stood here with nine points and we'd all be very pleased.

"But we've not, so we need to carry on, work hard and try and get the results we're after."
