Chesterfield's long-term absentees Gregor Robertson and Derek Niven are closing in on a return to training.
Defender Robertson has been sidelined since suffering an Achilles injury during a defeat at Hereford towards the end of last season.
Midfielder Niven, the club's longest-serving player, has been out since damaging ankle ligaments in training a month ago.
Both players are jogging again as they bid to build up their fitness.
