Sharps planning Millers stay

Rotherham defender Ian Sharps has no plans to quit The Millers following relegation to League Two.

Sharps has been a virtual ever-present for the South Yorkshire side this term, but could not prevent them suffering the drop after losing to Carlisle earlier this month.

The former Tranmere stopper has one more season left on his Millmoor contract and he hopes to remain with Rotherham next term.

"I hope to be here. I've got a year left on my contract and would like to stay and help the club bounce back next season," he told the club's official website.

"I'd urge the fans to stick with us and hopefully we can put right what wrong this season and come back stronger."
