Brentford have signed Sunderland defender Blair Adams on loan, subject to clearance from the Premier League.

The 20-year-old left-back will make the move on an emergency youth loan to bolster Uwe Rosler's options at the back.

England U20 international Adams has made it into Steve Bruce's match-day squad on a number of occasions but is yet to make his first-team bow for the Wearside outfit.

The Wearside youngster, who recently featured for England at the U20 World Cup, was a regular for the Black Cats' second string.

He is poised to go straight into Rosler's plans for Saturday's League One clash away to Wycombe Wanderers.
