Strachan: County deal
Gavin Strachan has joined Notts County on an 18-month contract after being released by Peterborough.
The midfielder, who is the son of Celtic manager Gordon, had his contract at London Road terminated earlier this week after making just six appearances for the club in all competitions this season.
Strachan joins a Magpies side which has won just once in their last 10 games and is danger of being dragged into a relegation battle.
However, County boss Ian McParland believes that Strachan's experience will be vital in helping the club to safety and is expected to include him in his squad for their trip to Bradford on Saturday.
"I am pleased to secure the services of Gavin," he told the club's official website.
"He is a midfielder with good experience and he knows plenty about this league.
"I am delighted he has chosen us because he had offers from elsewhere.
"I am sure he will become a valuable member of the squad."
