Rotherham: Entered administration

Rotherham have confirmed they have gone into administration for a second time.

The League Two promotion-chasers confirmed a fortnight ago that their notice of intention to appoint an administrator had been extended.

The initial deadline for the cash-strapped club had passed but the Millers were given until mid-March to try to find new investment.

Rotherham will now drop from seventh to 12th in the League Two table as they will be hit by the mandatory 10-point deduction to leave them six points adrift of the play-off places.

The Millers went in administration two summers ago and took the 10-point penalty.

Rallying cry

Chairman Denis Coleman has issued a rallying cry to supporters to get behind the team in Saturday's clash with Yorkshire rivals Bradford.

"This is a sad day for the club but we are hopeful that, by working closely with the administrators, the club can live to fight another day," he said.

"It is important the fans continue to rally around the club and get behind the team as we have a big game coming up against Bradford.

"We are desperate to make it back into the play-off places despite the 10-point deduction."
