League Two title-chasers set for bigger things

Darragh MacAnthony believes that Peterborough and MK Dons are destined for the Championship.

The two sides are currently locked together at the top of League Two and come face-to-face at stadium:mk on Friday night in a crucial clash which could yet prove to be a title decider.

Both clubs are expected to be playing in League One next season, but Posh chairman MacAnthony sees no reason why their upward trend should stop there.

He also predicts that a number of so called 'bigger' clubs will come knocking in the near future in regards to their promising young managers, Darren Ferguson and Paul Ince.

Cracker

"I definitely see us going toe-to-toe with MK Dons in League One and the Championship over the coming years," MacAnthony told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

"As for the managers being involved, who knows?

"I have no doubt both ourselves and MK Dons will have Premier League clubs banging the doors down to speak to both gaffers but if that doesn't happen, then success hasn't happened either.

"It should be a cracker against MK Dons, but I am not looking to this match as the be all and end all of the season.

"The facts are that we have eight games left and if we win them all, we secure the title so right now our destiny is in our own hands and nobody else's."
