Stallard: Must find new club
Lincoln have released out-of-contract quartet Alan Marriott, Gary Croft, Adie Moses and Mark Stallard.
But manager Peter Jackson, undergoing treatment for throat cancer, has offered Scott Kerr a contract extension to 2009 and handed new deals to Jamie Forrester, Shane Clarke and Ayden Duffy.
Iffy Onoura, in charge of the first team during Jackson's absence, said: "Even in the relatively short space of time that I've been at the club you get to know players well, so these are always difficult professional decisions to make.
"The four experienced players who will be leaving have been excellent professionals to work with.
"I've said to them all this is only the end of one chapter here and there's no reason why it can't be the beginning of another chapter elsewhere."
