Macclesfield have announced their retained list and they are releasing five players.

Nick Blackman, Jon Brain, Gareth Evans, Matthew Flynn, James Jennings and Izak Reid have all been offered new deals and have been informed they have a short time to decide whether they wish to re-sign.

Luke Dimech, Richard Edghill, Levi Reid, Andrew Teague and Jamie Tolley have all been released.

"The end of the season is always a testing time for players and managers alike but decisions have been taken and I'm pleased with what I hope to be the start of the process of building a squad capable of challenging in League Two next season," manager Keith Alexander told the club's official website.

"It's never nice letting any player know they are being released but it was clear we needed to do it given where we finished in the league last season."
