Bloomfield: New deal

Wycombe midfielder Matt Bloomfield can focus all his efforts on regaining full fitness after agreeing a new two-year deal at Adams Park.

Bloomfield is likely to be sidelined until the new year with a knee ligament injury but has removed all doubts about his future with the League Two side following talks with new manager Peter Taylor.

"I never wanted to leave. I never asked for anything unreasonable and I just wanted to get it sorted," said the 24-year-old, who is Wycombe's longest serving player.

"I'm happy to have signed and to get my future sorted so now I can concentrate on getting fit without worrying about contracts.

"The gaffer has been brilliant. He says he wants to get me fit. He's seen videos of me play so he knows all about me," Bloomfield told Wycombe's official website.

Bloomfield has started almost 150 games for Wycombe since joining the club from Ipswich Town in 2003.
