Bournemouth new boy Alan Connell has been ruled out for at least six weeks with a knee injury.

Connell returned for a second stint at Dean Court last week after completing a move from Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

However, the striker picked up a knee problem in his first training session and requires an operation to repair the damage.

He will go under the knife next Tuesday and Bournemouth then expect Connell to be absent for around six weeks.

In addition to Connell, Scott Guyett, Craig Lindfield and Ryan Garry will all miss Saturday's League Two encounter with Notts County.
