Chester City have made four players available for loan, including veteran duo Paul Butler and Tony Dinning.
Butler and Dinning have endured a topsy-turvy few months at the Deva Stadium after being suspended towards the end of last season following a breach of club discipline.
Both players then signed 12-month contract extensions in July, but have now been informed they are not part of manager Simon Davies' first-team plans.
Davies also wants to send out youngsters Paul Rutherford and Paul McManus, and explained his decision to make the quartet available.
"I have had a chat with all four players because they are not currently part of the squad playing first-team football," Davies told the Chester Standard.
"The move is not a punishment, but an opportunity which would be beneficial for the players as well as the club.
"A loan move would provide a valuable learning curve for the players and would be advantageous as far as their fitness is concerned.
"We haven't got a reserve team at Chester and if we have a fully fit squad it is difficult to offer first-team football to everyone."
