Accrington are hoping to further extend Rostyn Griffiths' stay at the club after striking a deal with Blackburn to keep the midfielder for another month.

The 20-year-old Australian joined Stanley on loan in early September and has gone on to make four appearances in the centre of John Coleman's midfield.

Griffiths' loan has been extended until November and he is expected to shake off an ankle injury in time to face Bradford at the weekend.

Accrington assistant manager Jimmy Bell has expressed his delight at the deal and paid tribute to Griffiths.

"We're very pleased that Rostyn's here for at least another month," Bell told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"If it was up to me, he'd be here until the end of the season.

"It was clear very early on that he was a good player and I think he's settled in."
