Wycombe boss Peter Taylor has denied speculation linking him with the vacant manager's seat at Watford.

The Hornets recently parted company with former chief Adrian Boothroyd and a host of names have been linked with a move to Vicarage Road.

Taylor, along with Sheffield Wednesday's Brian Laws, has been strongly rumoured to be on Watford's shortlist.

But the former England Under 21 manager, who took over at Wycombe in May, insists the rumours are unfounded.

He told Wycombe's official website: "That's paper talk, and it's nice to see because it means we are doing well and I'm happy with what we are doing here.

"If we were bottom of the league then I wouldn't be linked with anyone, so let's hope I start getting linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona, because that'll mean we're doing even better.

"In all seriousness, though, I'm happy where I am."
