Simpson: Will miss winger
Shrewsbury Town winger Chris Humphrey will be sidelined for between four and six weeks after suffering a broken jaw against Lincoln City.
Humphrey picked up the injury after only ten minutes after a challenge from Lincoln's Daniel Hone.
Despite later discovering he had broken his jaw in two places the winger insisted on playing the rest of the game as the two sides drew 0-0 in League Two.
After going for an x-ray after the game on the Saturday Humphrey had to have his jaw wired and will now be out of action for over a month.
Manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "It is going to be four to six weeks that Chris will be out and that is a big blow for us and for him.
"The disappointing thing about it is that the challenge that Richie Walker got sent off for everyone is telling me it was a nothing challenge and not an elbow.
"I've watched the DVD after the game and the challenge on Chris Humphrey is a really aggressive challenge.
"The lad has smashed him on the jaw and broken it in two places.
"It shows the character that Chris has as he wanted to carry on and we even got their doctor to examine him at half-time.
"He went to the hospital on Saturday night and they have wired his jaw, he's seen the specialist today and at first we were told it would be about eight weeks but now it will be four to six weeks.
"It's a blow as he was getting into some kind of form and was doing well in the first team so hopefully he can get over this and back into the side."
