Huddersfield Town have recalled defender Tom Clarke from his loan spell at local rivals Bradford City.

Clarke originally linked up with Bradford in late October and only last week extended his deal until the New Year.

However, injuries have hit the Huddersfield squad, prompting caretaker boss Gerry Murphy to summon the 20-year-old back to the Galpharm Stadium.

"Unfortunately, Joe Skarz has picked up an ankle injury in training this week and, with several other players out on loan for good reasons, we have decided to bring Tom back to the club in order to strengthen our squad," Murphy told the club's official website.

During his time at Bradford, Clarke made seven appearances for Stuart McCall's side, having only featured once for the Terriers this season.
