Peterborough United defender Kieran Charnock has performed a U-turn and agreed to join Torquay United on a two-year contract.

Charnock initially rejected a switch to Plainmoor, with Peterborough director of football Barry Fry describing the 25-year-old's decision as 'nuts'.

However, Charnock has now accepted a move to the League Two newcomers and is due to finalise his switch on Wednesday.

Torquay have agreed an undisclosed fee with Peterborough and Charnock follows Scott Rendell in making the move from London Road to Paul Buckle's side.

Charnock made just 16 appearances during two seasons with Peterborough and spent most of the last campaign on loan at Accrington Stanley.
