Notts County manager Hans Backe has told his players they will have every chance to prove their worth before the January transfer window.

The Magpies are set to launch another recruitment drive following their summer takeover by Munto Finance, which has seen the likes of Ade Akinbiyi, Kasper Schmeichel, Lee Hughes, Karl Hawley and Johnnie Jackson lured to Meadow Lane.

But before he acts in January, Backe insists his existing squad will have the opportunity to show they still have a part to play at the ambitious League Two club.

Chance

"I will have a look at these players and give them a chance to show what they can do," he told skysports.com.

"I still need to have a good look at the whole squad so I can't say that much at the moment about the players and the future.

"I need more time to see the players because I've been around for eight or nine training sessions so far and only two games so it's too early to say.

"I changed six players for the game against Bradford (last Saturday) because I'd only seen them in training.

"And from what I've seen so far, it seems there is no difference between the players so, in a way, we can use everyone."

No more exits

Third-choice goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington joined Luton on loan on Thursday to gain first-team football but Backe insists there will be no more players going out on loan until new signings are made.

"The size of the squad - around 21, 22 outfield players - is the perfect number so at the moment no more will be going out," he added.

As well as making permanent signings in January, Backe revealed he would like to extend loan deals for Portsmouth winger Matt Ritchie,

Nottingham Forest right-back Brendan Moloney and Wolves left-back Daniel Jones.

The Swedish boss also confirmed that former Juventus defender Jorge Andrade is still training with the club as he aims to prove his fitness.

The 31-year-old Portugal international will play in a reserve game against Chesterfield on Monday as he steps up his bid for a permanent contract.
