Cheltenham Town have snapped up West Bromwich Albion's promising midfielder Joss Labadie on a month's loan.

Labadie had spent most of this season on loan at Shrewsbury, but was sent back to West Brom following their surprise FA Cup defeat by Staines.

He scored five goals in 15 appearances during his time with Shrewsbury and netted the winner in a 2-1 success at Cheltenham in September.

The 19-year-old will go into the Robins' squad for Saturday's game at Morecambe and acting manager John Schofield expects Labadie to make an impact.

Different dimension

"It's great to add a different dimension to the team," Schofield told the club's official website.

"Joss will bring athleticism to us centrally and that's something we feel we need to add to the squad.

"He's come with a good track record at Shrewsbury and hopefully it's a chance to link up with West Brom, who are only on our doorstep. Perhaps we can help some of Joss' colleagues there with their development as young players as well.

"We are starting to create a bit of competition for places by adding a couple of players of quality to the squad. It gives us a few more options and gets that little bit extra out of everybody."
