Currie: Off to Dagenham
Dagenham & Redbridge have agreed a deal to sign veteran midfielder Darren Currie on loan from League Two rivals Chesterfield.
Currie has struggled for first-team football at Saltergate this season and has featured only once for John Sheridan's side since September.
He played under Dagenham boss John Still at Barnet earlier in his career and Sheridan feels the move will benefit the 34-year-old.
"Darren Currie will be going to Dagenham & Redbridge under his previous boss John Still," Sheridan told the club's official website.
"Daz hasn't had too much football here. Darren's trained really hard and I wish him all the best, he's a good pro.
"Hopefully the loan will work out for him, he's still got a house down there and hopefully Dagenham will take over Darren's contract in the New Year."
The loan is due to keep Currie at Dagenham until 9th January and he could be involved in Tuesday's fixture against promotion rivals Bournemouth providing the paperwork is completed in time.
