Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon has made his first signing since his appointment by bringing in Marlon Jackson on loan from Bristol City.

The 18-year-old striker, who is a product of City's academy, has signed a month-long deal and is eligible to go straight into the squad for the FA Cup second-round tie at Tranmere on Saturday.

Jackson has already been on loan to League Two rivals Hereford this season and featured in the 2-2 draw at Aldershot in September.

Dillon told the club's official website: "We have a small squad at the club and we are looking to bring in two players before Thursday's deadline, with Marlon being the first arrival.

"It is important to strengthen the squad. I like to have forwards available and have some firepower too.

"You have to have competition for places all the time to ensure that players don't rest on their laurels."
