Johnnie Jackson's loan spell at Charlton has been cut short after suffering a torn hamstring.

The midfielder limped off during last Saturday's win over Stockport and has returned to parent club Notts County after visiting a specialist and being ruled out for six weeks.

"It's worse than we first feared," said Addicks boss Phil Parkinson. "It's disappointing news for Johnnie and us.

"He's done very well for us in the short time he has been here, but his loan was due to end after the Millwall game anyway, and we'll move on."

Jackson, 27, had been filling in at left-back for Charlton after injuries to Kelly Youga and Grant Basey.

The Addicks face London rivals and fellow promotion hopefuls Millwall on Saturday and Parkinson has ruled out another dip into the loan market ahead of the trip to The Den.

"We've got a few options within the squad so we'll probably go with what we've got," he said.

"Kelly is back in training and has made himself available but we'll assess everyone in training on Friday."
