Lincoln City defender Ian Pearce is not expected to play again this season due to a hamstring injury.

The 35-year-old player-assistant manager, who has made 11 appearances since joining the club last October, was forced off during the 3-1 home win over Hereford on Friday night.

Manager Chris Sutton said: "He's genuinely in a really bad way. He hasn't even been able to get out of bed since.

"I doubt he'll play again this season unless something dramatic happens. We will really miss him."

Sutton is already without Nathan Baker (ankle) for around another month and Adam Watts (broken leg) for the rest of the season, leaving him desperately short of defensive options.
