Oldham Athletic striker Keigan Parker has joined local rivals Bury on an initial month-long loan deal.

Parker has struggled to make an impact at Boundary Park since joining Oldham on a two-year contract from League One rivals Huddersfield Town last summer.

He has scored just twice in 29 appearances for the Latics and has been allowed out on loan after Dave Penney brought in Lewis Guy from Doncaster Rovers.

"Keigan brings us pace at the top end of the pitch," Shakers boss Alan Knill told the Bury Times. "He works the channels well and has got plenty of talent.

"His career has taken a dip recently so he has got the opportunity to get back to the level he wants to play at.

"It's important to freshen up the squad and I am still looking to bring another body in to boost us further."

The 27-year-old will go straight into the Bury squad for Saturday's trip to League Two promotion rivals Rotherham United.

Bury are currently outside the automatic promotion spots on goal difference and have a six-point cushion to eighth-placed Shrewsbury Town.
