Jack Cudworth has expressed his delight at joining Macclesfield, revealing that he rejected offers from elsewhere to sign for the club.

The promising 19-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived from Welsh side Rhyl, admits other clubs were keen to secure his services.

An unnamed League Two rival was among the suitors, but Cudwoth insists his heart was set on a move to Moss Rose to link up with Gary Simpson's men.

"I had a couple of offers to play and one was from another League Two side," he told Town's official website.

"But I liked what I'd seen so far at Macclesfield and we seem to have a great team spirit here at the club.

"I saw Matt Hamshaw's comments when he signed and he's right that the atmosphere here is really good and it looks like being a great club to play for."
