Wycombe Wanderers manager Gary Waddock is delighted to be able to include Stuart Beavon in his side again after seeing the striker recover from a long-term injury.

The former Weymouth forward made his first appearance of the season on Saturday as a second half substitute, having made a full recovery from a broken leg sustained at the end of the 2009/10 campaign.

Waddock has welcomed his return and believes having Beavon back in the fray will help to create competition for places up front.

"Stuart has recovered well and has looked very sharp in both training and the games he has featured in for the reserves, but he is still a little short on match sharpness," he told skysports.com.

"He probably needs a few more games under his belt before he is back up to speed, but he is improving all the time.

"He picked up the injury towards the end of last season and that was difficult for him to get over, but he has done well to get back to where he is now.

"He is a very good player and we are delighted to have him available to us again because he gives us more quality and strength in our group."
