Scott Shearer - Wycombe Wanderers

After an injury-ravaged campaign last year, Shearer has bounced back to claim his place in the divisional team of the year. The 28-year-old has recovered from knee ligament damage to establish himself as Wycombe's number one as part of one of the meanest defences in the country.

Neil Austin - Darlington

Austin will be celebrating his 26th birthday in style tonight after an impressive season at full back for the Quakers. It has been difficult for the club after being deducted ten points for falling into administration but Austin has been impressive despite the off-field problems.

Simon King - Gillingham

A £200,000 signing from Barnet back in 2007, King has been a tower of strength for Gillingham this season as they have launched an assault on promotion. King has previously won the Conference with Barnet and is now making his mark in the Football League.

David McCracken - Wycombe Wanderers

McCracken formed a mean defensive partnership with Mike Williamson, who has since moved on to Watford, during the first half of the campaign. McCracken is an uncompromising centre half and arrived at Adams Park in the summer of 2007 with former boss Paul Lambert but is now part of the furniture in Buckinghamshire.

Thomas Kennedy - Rochdale

Thomas is following in the footsteps of his Uncle Alan as a left back of some repute and a dead shot from the penalty spot. Kennedy's uncle was a Liverpool stalwart and Thomas is hoping for success of his own with Rochdale this season as they bid to go one step further after last year's Wembley play-off loss to Stockport.

Omar Daley - Bradford City

Daley has a half century of caps for Jamaica and is using that experience to good effect for Bradford this season. However, a knee injury has ruled Daley out of action until December 2009 but such was his impact up to his injury in February that he made the divisional team.

Dany N'Guessan - Lincoln City

The skilful French winger has been a huge hit at Sincil Bank since his arrival from Glasgow Rangers in 2007 and has tormented defenders this season. N'Guessan is a product of the famous Auxerre Academy and has kept the Imps on the fringes of the play-offs with his magic.

Ben Davies - Shrewsbury Town

Captain Marvel Davies has been the shining light of consistency for Shrewsbury this season and notched well over ten goals already this term. The 27-year-old has driven the Shrews on this season from the engine room and is the fans' favourite in Shropshire will be hoping to confirm a play-off place for Paul Simpson's side by the end of the campaign.

Tommy Doherty - Wycombe Wanderers

Doherty is treading on familiar ground after being named in the 2006-07 League Two divisional team of the year. The feisty midfielder has been sent off twice this year but his tigerish performances have given Wycombe a real chance of lifting the League Two title.

Andy Bishop - Bury

Bishop has formed a fearsome partnership with Andy Morrell as Bury have confounded the critics to launch a promotion assault. Bishop was the first Bury player to score over 20 goals for 13 years when broke the record in 2007 and he has carried on with his rich vein of form ever since as the Shakers threaten to upset the applecart at the summit of League Two.

Grant Holt - Shrewsbury Town

Holt was Shrewsbury's club record signing this summer for a fee of £175,000 but he has lived up to expectations. The former Rochdale and Nottingham forest striker has already bagged 27 goals and will be hoping for a double celebration of Shrewsbury reaching the play-offs and personally smashing through the 30-goal barrier.

Where is Paul Benson? He is better then Grant Holt and should have walked into the team of the year in my honest opinion. Daggers for League 1!!!
