League Two round-up

Wycombe Wanderers knocked Dennis Wise's Swindon Town off the top spot with their 2-0 win over Rochdale, as Town suffered only their second defeat of the season at home to Peterborough United.

Tommy Mooney put Wanderers 1-0 up on 16 minutes and Jonathan Dixon sealed the victory with his goal right at the death on 93 minutes.

Trevor Benjamin scored the only goal of the game for the Posh on 48 minutes as they snatched an impressive 1-0 away win.

Walsall moved up to third with their 2-0 win at home to Macclesfield Town. Hector Sam put the Bescott side ahead on the 38th minute before Scott Dann scored an 89th minute strike to round off an important result against the league's bottom club.

Lincoln City slipped down to fourth with their disappointing 3-2 defeat to MK Dons at Sincil Bank.

Izale Mcleod's penalty (5) and Aaron Wilbraham's strike (26) put the visitors two up before Lee Frecklington (46) got the home side back into it. No sooner had he done so, The Dons were 3-1 up through Clive Platt's 54th minute goal. Lee Beevers scored a second for City on 59 minutes, but it was not enough.

Stockport County recorded the most impressive result of the day, with their 5-2 victory over Wrexham at Edgeley Park.

Mark Robinson scored a penalty on 24 minutes, but it was Adam Le Fondre who proved to be the hero with his four-goal return (24, 54, 85, 87). Danny Williams (43,61) scored the goals for The Dragons, who have now slipped to 12th.

Alan White (32), Andy Parkinson (37) and Jason Lee (55) gave Notts County all three points at Underhill. Ian Hendon scored a penalty (25) and Jason Puncheon (32) had given Barnet a 2-0 lead, before the visitors turned it around and won 3-2.

Bury slipped to second bottom with their 1-0 defeat at Hereford United through an 80th minute Andrew Williams goal.

Torquay United moved up one place to seventh with their 1-0 win at Plainmoor. Jamie Ward's 37th minute strike consigned Mansfield Town to 16th.

Shrewsbury Town thumped Hartlepool United 3-0 at Victoria Park to move up to eighth. An own goal from John Daly on 11 minutes gave the visitors a perfect start before Stuart Drummond (77) and Michael Symes (81) sealed the win.

Darlington dropped to ninth with their 1-1 draw at home to Bristol Rovers. Rovers had taken the lead through Lewis Haldane on 55 minutes before Martin Smith rescued a point for Darlington with his 93rd minute strike.

Grimsby Town recorded a late win against Chester City. Gray Jones scored on 91 minutes before Andy Taylor doubled the lead and sealed the win on 94 minutes.

Accrington Stanley also snatched a late winner at home to Boston United. Gary Roberts had put the home side ahead on 11 minutes before David Farrell (49) equalised for United. But it was Andy Todd who proved the hero for the League Two new boys as his 93rd minute goal gave the Fraser Eagle side all three points.
