Leaders Hartlepool needed a late goal from Richie Barker to secure a point at home to Lincoln.

Lincoln also have their sights set on promotion and they held sway for much of the contest, before being pegged back in controversial circumstances.

Paul Green fired Lincoln ahead on seven minutes when his deflected shot found the target.

Lincoln looked like they had done enough to end Hartlepool's long unbeaten run, but the home side were awarded a late penalty.

Barker held his nerve superbly as he slammed his shot down the middle to keep Pools on track for promotion.

There was also a late goal in Wales as Bury came from behind to draw with Wrexham.

Lee McEvilly fired Wrexham ahead on 33 minutes, but they were forced onto the back foot as Chris Llewellyn and Ryan Valentine were given their marching orders.

Bury battered on the Wrexham door for the final 30 minutes, but it was not until two minutes into stoppage-time that they found a way through.

A long throw from Dave Challinor caused chaos in the box and Glynn Hurst was on hand to lash home.
