League Two Round-Up

Walsall maintained their two-point cushion at the top of League Two, as closest pursuers Lincoln City rattled in seven goals against Rochdale.

Swindon Town and Wycombe Wanderers also won in the top four, while Macclesfield Town are still waiting for a first win of the season.

Table-toppers Walsall secured a 2-1 success at Accrington Stanley thanks to Mark Wright's 85th minute winner.

Hector Sam had put the visitors ahead five minutes before half time before Ian Craney levelled for Accrington on 78.

Lincoln were in rampant form at home to Rochdale, winning 7-1 with Jamie Forrester plundering a hat-trick.

Forrester opened the scoring on 11 minutes and Mark Stallard added a second on 16 before Alan Goodall (23) replied for Rochdale.

Well-travelled striker Forrester then scored either side of half time, while Jeff Hughes netted twice in the second period, along with another for Stallard.

An 81st minute goal from Aaron Brown earned Swindon a 2-1 triumph at Shrewsbury Town.

Fola Onibuje's 12th minute effort had the visitors in front, but The Shrews drew level on 68 minutes via Ben Davies.

Second half goals from Kevin Betsy (64) and Jermaine Easter (84) provided Wycombe with a 2-0 win at home to Peterborough United.

Milton Keynes Dons suffered a surprise 3-1 home defeat to Hereford United, with Robert Purdie scoring his seventh penalty of the season.

Alan Connell put Hereford ahead on eight minutes before Purdie's spot kick (22), while Izale McLeod netted for the home side on 59 minutes. Stuart Fleetwood scored in the last minute to seal the win for The Bulls.

Notts County took MK Dons' spot in fifth after goals from Junior Mendes (60) and Jason Lee (83) claimed a 2-0 success at Grimsby Town.

At the bottom end of the table, Macclesfield ground out a 0-0 draw at Bristol Rovers ahead of the impending appointment of a new manager.

Paul Ince is tipped to take over on Monday and he will have been encouraged by how Macclesfield held on after Danny Swailes was sent off for a second yellow card 15 minutes from time.

Bury climbed away from the relegation zone after battling to a 2-1 home triumph over fellow strugglers Boston United.

Glynn Hurst (70) and Marc Pugh (73) put Bury in command before Paul Tait (78) pulled one back.

Barnet continue to languish in the lower reaches of the division after a 2-0 reverse at managerless Darlington.

A two-goal burst in three minutes from Simon Johnson (75) and own goal from Joe Devera secured Darlington the points.

Adam Le Fondre's 38th minute goal was enough for Stockport County to see off Torquay United at Edgeley Park.

Richie Barker's double (21 & 36) helped Mansfield Town to a 3-0 home win over Wrexham, with Danny Reet (69) adding the third.
