Rochdale extended their lead at the top of the table as Bournemouth were stunned and Notts County lost their unbeaten home record.
Burton hit Aldershot for six and Torquay eased their relegation fears with a 5-0 rout of dismal Darlington as 44 goals were scored in the afternoon's 12 games.
Rochdale came from behind to secure victory at struggling Lincoln with Chris O'Grady, Craig Dawson and Joe Thompson on target after Chris Herd's opener for the home side.
Red-hot Morecambe claimed their seventh successive victory as title-hopefuls Bournemouth were put to the sword 5-0 in the North West, with the hosts already three goals to the good before Marvyn Bartley's 42nd-minute dismissal.
Burton's Greg Pearson grabbed a 14-minute hat-trick before the interval as play-off chasing Aldershot were thrashed 6-1 at the Pirelli Stadium, with Steve Kabba grabbing two.
Darlington continue to plummet towards what appears to be inevitable relegation at an alarming rate with Torquay easing their own drop fears with a 5-0 romp at Plainmoor as Chris Zebrowski helped himself to a brace.
Notts County's new era under Peter Trembling got off to a rocky start as the Magpies suffered their first Meadow Lane defeat of the season thanks to goals from Accrington's Michael Symes and James Ryan.
Paul Benson struck either side of the interval as Dagenham & Redbridge overcame fellow promotion hopefuls Bury 3-1, as Danny Nardiello responded for the visitors.
Rotherham edged a six-goal thriller against Bradford at Valley Parade as Gary Roberts and Drewe Broughton were on target in the closing stages for the Millers.
Jack Lester grabbed another important goal for Chesterfield as the Spireites climbed to sixth in the table with a narrow home success against Cheltenham.
Barnet's unbeaten Underhill record came to an end at the hands of Crewe courtesy of Clayton Donaldson's 67th-minute winner for the Railwaymen.
Macclesfield gave themselves additional breathing space above the relegation places as two goals from Emile Sinclair set them on their way to a 3-1 home success against Hereford.
Grimsby edged a point closer to safety as they frustrated play-off hopefuls Shrewsbury in a ProStar Stadium stalemate.
Port Vale held on for a point with 10 men at Northampton with John McCombe seeing red early in the second half and Adebayo Akinfenwa's penalty cancelling out Marc Richards' earlier spot-kick.
