Raynes: Hoping for change of luck
Stockport captain Michael Raynes has urged the Hatters not to lose hope as they aim to halt their losing streak.
Exeter scored twice in stoppage time on Saturday to claim a 3-1 win at Edgeley Park before County lost 2-0 at Colchester on Tuesday, which was their sixth straight league defeat.
That run has seen Stockport slide from 13th to second-bottom in League One but defender Raynes is confident County can soon reverse their fortunes.
"We keep talking about it and we feel we're doing all the right things but we seem to be getting no luck whatsoever," he told skysports.com.
"I think anyone who has seen us play home and away this season knows how well we've played and how unlucky we've been.
"We just seem to be getting punished for every single mistake we make and we've not been punishing other teams for their mistakes. It's more frustrating than anything.
"But we can moan about penalties not being given and things going against us all we like - at the end of the day, it's about us not scoring the goals and getting the results we need.
"We've been working hard to try to get ourselves through it, though, and hopefully the tide will turn."
Gary Ablett's young squad has been depleted by injuries and illness, and the County boss is hoping to boost his options before the loan deadline.
With the club still in administration, Ablett has admitted it is difficult to afford senior players on loan, but Raynes believes County's young side have enough experience to pull through.
"We've got a lot of young lads but a lot of young lads with experience," he added.
"I'm 22 and I've played nearly 150 games, and Johnny Mullins is 24 and played 200 games.
"We all need to stick together and be patient, and everyone's tried to be as positive as we can in a bad situation.
"The gaffer and all the guys behind the scenes are trying to get the club sorted off the field and it's up to us to do our bit on it."
