Howe: In demand
Skysports.com understands Peterborough United have approached Bournemouth regarding manager Eddie Howe and talks are expected on Wednesday.
Championship strugglers Posh are searching for a new boss after parting company with Darren Ferguson on Tuesday by mutual consent.
Howe has been installed as the bookmakers' favourite to take over at London Road after performing an excellent job at League Two Bournemouth.
The Cherries sit at the top of the table, despite operating under a transfer embargo, and the 31-year-old has received high praise after taking charge on New Years Eve in 2008.
Peterborough are now believed to have contacted Howe and he and assistant Jason Tindall are expected to hold talks with the club's hierarchy over the next few days.
Posh sit bottom of the Championship and Ferguson, who had guided the club to successive promotions from League One and Two, paid the price for a run of one win in eight matches.
