Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Lewis is poised to make his injury comeback with a run-out for the reserves at St Albans.

The 23-year-old has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury during the League One play-off semi-final victory over MK Dons in May.

Lewis will line up between the posts on Monday night for a strong Peterborough side that will also include new signings Emile Sinclair and Daniel Kearns.

"I am looking forward to it, it will be my first game for four months," Lewis told the club's official website.

Ready

"I have been working hard for quite a while now and it cannot come quick enough. It will be a test for me mentally as well as physically.

"I feel my body is ready but to test it in a match situation against competitive opposition will be good for me. And mentally, it is always good to get the first game out of the way.

"I want to get games under my belt now. I have to prove my fitness because I haven't played any matches for four months.

"I want to put Paul Jones under pressure. He is a good goalkeeper and has been playing very well, so I need to show the manager that I am fit and raring to go, train well and play well in the reserve-team matches. It is down to me now."
