Contract joy for Bloomfield

Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Matt Bloomfield has expressed his delight at signing a one-year contract extension.

Bloomfield has committed his future to the League Two club after prolonging his deal until 2008.

His previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season and Bloomfield was happy to stay with Wycombe.

"I'm delighted," Bloomfield told the club's official website.

"We've been talking about it for a while now, so I'm glad to get it sorted and out of the way.

"It's taken a few years for me to get to where I want to be here as I had to establish myself in the team.

"Now I feel I've done that and the next step is to move on and make sure we get promoted."

The 22-year-old joined the club from Ipswich Town in December 2003 and has been a key figure in Wycombe's bright start to the season.
