Quakers lose Keltie services

Darlington captain Clark Keltie has been ruled out for up to six weeks after being forced to undergo surgery on a troublesome ankle.

The 22-year-old has been missing from the Quakers' squad for the last two games with the problem.

The club had been hoping the injury would clear up with rest but an X-ray has shown the problem requires surgery.

Darlington physiotherapist Paul Gough confirmed the need for Keltie to undergo surgery, which will keep him out for four to six weeks.

"It was not settling down so he had an X-ray and he's got a floating bone," Gough told the Northern Echo.

"They can be in there for a long time without causing any problems but if it comes dislodged or moves, that's when it needs surgery."

Keltie underwent similar surgery last year and Gough is confident of no delays to the midfielder's recovery.
