Winger wants Darlo deal

Neil Wainwright has confirmed he wants to stay with Darlington next season.

The winger is among a batch of players whose contract expires in the summer, but he has outlined his wish to sign an extension.

He is now waiting for talks regarding his future with the League Two club, but hopes to agree a deal with manager Dave Penney.

"Obviously I want to stay as I have been here six seasons now," Wainwright told the Northern Echo.

"My desire is definitely to stay, so we will see what happens and fingers crossed I will be here next season."

Since joining the club from Sunderland in the summer of 2001, Wainwright has gone on to make over 240 appearances for The Quakers.
