Notts County manager Martin Allen could not hide his delight after watching his side secure a 3-0 win at Carlisle.

County made a flying start with Jeff Hughes opening the scoring in the 13th minute and Carlisle striker Francois Zoko heading into his own net in the 32nd minute.

Allen's side continued to force the pace and were rewarded with a third goal on the stroke of half-time when striker Lee Hughes slid home a shot from inside the penalty area.

Allen told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's the players that have done it. Sitting here saying how good I am and all that - it's the players that deserve the credit - they're the ones that go over that white line.

"It's alright me saying do this, do that, but God bless, it's the players that deserve the credit.

"There is a great team spirit here and that's very pleasing."
