Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez mentioned various setbacks as his side failed to break down nine-man Accrington in a 0-0 draw.

Sanchez felt the absence of in-form striker Izale McLeod combined with playing nine games in the space of a month finally caught up with his team at Underhill.

Charlie Barnett was the first Stanley player to see red for a reckless two-footed lunge on striker Steve Kabba just before the break, leaving the Bees with a numerical advantage for the entire second half.

Kevin Long was then shown a straight red card for hauling down Charlie Taylor when through on goal late on.

But Barnet failed to capitalise, and Sanchez said: "We missed Izale and it wasn't ideal that Steve (Kabba) had to play as he has been off ill all week and was not near full fitness.

"We didn't have the zip that we've had in recent games and it's frustrating that we haven't been able to show that in front of our home fans. We're down to the bare bones and we didn't have a very good bench, and we eventually ran out of ideas. We've played nine games in August, it has been a hard slog and that finally took its toll."

He added: "I think we're just happier to play away and we will need to think about how we can reverse that. It shouldn't be the case, so we need to work out how we can change."
