Manager Lawrie Sanchez says Barnet striker Charlie Taylor has earned himself a place against Oxford on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has started just four matches since moving to Underhill from Sutton last summer.

But with Steve Kabba injured, Taylor was preferred to new signing Lloyd Owusu in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Plymouth and his performance gave Sanchez plenty to think about ahead of Saturday's visit of Oxford.

"We like what we see in training," said Sanchez.

"With Kabba not being available and Lloyd Owusu just joining, we thought we would back Taylor and see what he can do.

"I don't think the fans have seen the best of him in his time here and I thought he put in a great performance and worked his socks off. He made a case to be in on Saturday without a doubt."
