Wales international Mark Jones will quit Wrexham in the summer.
Jones is out of contract at the end of the season and he has informed the club that he will not be looking to extend his deal.
The 23-year-old has come through the youth ranks of his hometown club and, after a string of eye-catching displays, he was handed his first Welsh cap in 2006.
Injuries have since curtailed his progress but he is now back to full fitness and a number of Championship clubs are believed to be considering an approach.
Jones would not a be a free transfer as he does not turn 24 until August, so any club taking him would need to compensate Wrexham.
The player's representative Wayne Elsey confirmed his client would not be extending his stay with the North Wales outfit.
"Mark needs to move on, and I think the club realise this," he told skysports.com.
"He will move on and we know there are clubs very interested.
"Mark will always love Wrexham and the fans, who have been fantastic with him, but the time has come for him to move on."
Swansea, Cardiff, Burnley and Barnsley are understood to be amongst those taking a close look at Jones.
