Accrington boss John Coleman lauded his side after seeing them dump nine-man holders Carlisle out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Carlisle, who had Peter Murphy and James Berrett sent off, have reached Wembley for the last two years, but lost to a last-ditch Andy Procter goal at the Crown Ground.

Coleman said: "We've been working on our finishing in training as I think it has let us down so far this season so it's pleasing when it comes off.

"We haven't been scoring enough goals so I'm glad we have taken our chances. Saying that, they deserved to go 2-1 up even with 10 men as they came out on the front foot and all guns blazing in the second half, how I like my teams to play.

"But then we exploited the space left by nine men and I'm happy with the win. We have got Tranmere at home now in the next round and it's a good chance for us."
