Burnley boss Owen Coyle is standing firm over the transfer of star striker Kyle Lafferty.

The 6ft 4ins hot-shot is attracting plenty of interest in the transfer market, with Celtic, Rangers and Wolves all linked with the player.

But Coyle insists he will be going nowhere until Burnley's £4million valuation is met.

His comments come after Celtic last week made an improved offer for the striker, with a package of £2.75million plus Derek Riordan and a friendly worth about £200,000.

But Burnley have officially rejected this bid, as well as Wolves' offer of £2.5million plus Stephen Elliott and Darren Potter.

Lafferty's agent Gordon Armstrong has claimed that detailed talks are set to take place in the next few days about a possible transfer.

Fallen short

But the Burnley boss insists no discussions will take place until an improved offer is made.

He told the Daily Express: "All the bids have fallen short and that's where we stand.

"There is nothing to talk about unless someone comes back with an improved offer."
