Rangers target Mark Reynolds looks set to remain at Motherwell for another season before seeking a move away from Fir Park.

Walter Smiths' Gers are reportedly monitoring the 21-year-old defender's situation after they had a £1million bid rejected earlier this month.

Motherwell boss Mark McGhee is keen to hold onto Reynolds, and after holding talks with the centre-back he has persuaded him that it would be in his best interests to remain at the club for another campaign.

"I definitely have no bad feelings towards the manager and the club. I have nothing but respect for Mark McGhee," Reynolds told the Daily Record.

Grateful

"He took his time to explain the situation and his plans and I was grateful for that.

"He explained he rejected the bid because he wanted more money and another season would benefit me more.

"At the end of next season I'd be worth more to Motherwell and it would benefit myself so I was quite happy knowing that."
