Miller: Advocaat support
Dick Advocaat insists that the returning Kenny Miller will prove to be a good signing for Rangers.
The former Gers boss bought the Scotland international striker to Ibrox for the first time back in June 2000 when he paid Hibernian approximately £2million for his services.
However, he then sold Miller to Wolves the following season after the forward failed to hold down a first-team spot.
Miller has enjoyed mixed fortunes during resulting spells at Celtic and Derby, before making a controversial switch back to Glasgow this summer.
It remains to be seen whether he can win over a sceptical Rangers fan base who are unhappy at his time with arch rivals Celtic, but Advocaat is adamant that the 28-year old is a better player now than he was during his first stint at the club.
"Miller is a different player now from when he was at Ibrox the first time," said the Zenit St Petersburg boss.
"I signed him from Hibs when he was young but there was too much competition for him at the time.
"He is more experienced now, he has done well for the national team and he is a very strong player.
"He will be a good player for Rangers."
Advocaat was then shocked to hear that he has recently been linked with Celtic's unsettled striker Derek Riordan.
"Who? Is that the player who plays on the left-hand side?" said the Dutch coach.
"It is not true. I will be signing maybe only one or two players and they will probably be Russian."
